STYLE GURU BIO: Tess Hyre

Hey, everyone! My name is Tess. I am a senior studying sports communications and strategic communications at Shepherd University. It is a cute university surrounded by the gorgeous mountains in West Virginia. I have had a deep passion for fashion since I was a little girl in pigtails. This will be my first semester interning with CollegeFashionista, and I could not be more excited.

I’ve developed a love for challenging myself to find different fashion trends I like, whether I see them on my favorite designers’ pages or even Pinterest, I will replicate high dollar outfits that fit a college girl’s budget. You do not have to have the most expensive outfit on campus; you can have just as cute of an outfit from H&M. That’s the beauty of fashion. You can make it how you want because at the end of the day you have to love what you wear and own it.

My style tends to vary between boho chic to all things glam. For the look I have given you guys today, I am wearing a black and gold jumpsuit with black suede booties and a black with leather detail jacket paired with a dome shaped umbrella. It rains a good bit where I am from, so a good umbrella is key and should be treated like any other accessory to your outfit.  Plus, clear umbrellas can be found at many different places.

As I break down this outfit, I must say I love jumpsuits. They’re every tall girls’ friend. They help elongate the legs and are super comfy. This jumpsuit can also be worn year round because it is sleeveless and can be worn in the summer months. Suede is a huge trend this season, so these black suede booties are a hit, and so reasonable too. They can go with jeans, or you can dress them up like I did. Since it is winter, this black leather patched jacket helps dress up the jumpsuit and is perfect for a girl’s night out on the town. I don’t shy away from mix matching metals. The jumpsuit may have gold in it, but the buttons on the jacket may be silver, you can tie the metals together through jewelry and the overall outfit will still look fierce.

I hope you all enjoy this look and try something similar for yourself!
