Hey there, Fashionistas/os!

I’m back at it again for another semester with CollegeFashionista – that’s right, you haven’t gotten rid of me just yet! Since first joining CollegeFashionista I’ve experienced a whirlwind of excitement, knowledge and opportunities that have allowed me to further engage with remarkable brands like Steve Madden and Victoria’s Secret PINK, to name a few. Not to mention: the Office Hours podcast is by far the best motivational tool for my professional aspirations. The new Editor-In-Chief of Teen Vogue, Elaine Welteroth, has even retweeted and favorited a handful of my tweets after the Instagram chat hosted by CollegeFashionista! It was a life changing moment (and yes, my gasp of astonishment drew lots of public attention when I got the notifications).

For the new readers—I’m Taylor, a self-described J-Lo in a world of J-Laws. At all hours of any given day, you’ll find me serial-scrolling through Instagram, and winding down with a large glass of wine and the latest broadcast of E! News. As scary as these next words are to type down, I am now a rising senior at the George Washington University majoring in organizational sciences with a minor in communication. This summer I’m headed up to the Big Apple to intern for Essence magazine at Time Inc. and I am beyond thrilled to share the best looks from the nation’s fashion capital with you all.

Summertime brings about a sense of freedom and fearlessness that we don’t always get during the school year. This summer, I’m challenging myself to break rules, push boundaries and blur the lines for traditional day-to-night wear. For this look, I took an outfit that I would traditionally label a night look and incorporated lighter tones to the outfit for a carefree diva on the run style. Staying on-trend, I matched white hot sandals with a pair of sharp cat-eye sunnies. The light purple satin romper is the perfect go-to for creating a polished look with little to no effort as well. I can’t wait to fully embrace this look as I run around downtown Manhattan.

The adventure that lies ahead will be filled with growth, fun, and as always…style. I’m looking forward to embracing a new city and seeing my personal style evolve even more, all with the help of CollegeFashionista, of course. Sick with me this summer as I pound my heels from the pavement of D.C. to Manhattan, and take yet another city on by storm.
