STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Cranford

Hello there, I’m Taylor!

I’m currently a sophomore at the University at Buffalo with a focus of media study—basically, multi-media art and digital processing. Although I am not going to school for fashion, I’ve always been in love with all types of design, including fashion design. As many cases begin, my interest in style emerged from binge-watching What Not to Wear and Project Runway. If you’ve ever seen either of them, you probably understand the ease of watching 10-hour marathons with the blink of an eye.

Budding out of early adolescence, my own stylistic voice developed as I attended high school in SoHo, New York—an area full of boutiques, high-end brands, and walking style icons. Being surrounded by the endless muse for years only invigorated my obsession with beauty methods and unorthodox clothing. Currently, I bring as much of my personal style as I can to Buffalo. It proves to be more difficult than you’d think, considering the lack of closet space and warm weather.

I’m looking forward to my first semester apart of the Style Guru gang for a few reasons. One—I am already more encouraged to not fall back into the very tempting decision of wearing sweatpants and a hoodie to class. College can be tough, and style is certainly a creative outlet. Two—I have always been more reserved on social media, so I’m looking forward to breaking out of my shell and posting less sporadically (10 points if you get the reference), as well as broadening my knowledge of successful media tactics. Three—I am beyond eager to become a part of this team and get to know fellow Style Gurus, as well as the people behind the face of CollegeFashionista. Overall, I am excited to see what’s ahead!

Ready for the beginning of the semester, and ready to stay #RAD.
