STYLE GURU BIO: Sarah Cotton

Hey Fashionistas! My name is Sarah Cotton and this is my second time writing as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am an incoming junior majoring in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Albright College. Albright may be a small school, however, it is filled with creative and fashionable people who inspire me every day. I am so excited that I get the chance to write for CollegeFashionista again! So, keep checking in with me this summer for some great tips and trends.

Being a fashion major and writing for CollegeFashionista, Iโ€™ve been able to learn so much about other peopleโ€™s styles, as well as my own. My style has definitely changed over time. Growing up, I was always buying the latest trends to add to my wardrobe, but as I got older I realized the fun part about buying the latest trends was how I was going to make them my own. I guess thatโ€™s where my love of fashion came from, incorporating my own style into the current style trends at the time. How I would describe my style is fun, feminine, comfortable and a little retro. Itโ€™s rare to see me in pants especially in the summer. I love to wear skirts and dresses because to me theyโ€™re so much more comfortable. My clothing definitely has some โ€˜70s-inspired qualities to it, I just love the fun style of the โ€˜70s. What can I say Iโ€™m a flower child at heart!

Lately I have been obsessed with stripes for the summer like this stripped T-shirt from Forever 21. Itโ€™s really simple and comfortable you can pretty much wear it with anything. I have it paired with my favorite denim skirt from PacSun. I love this skirt because itโ€™s cute, comfortable and it has that retro style that I like. Lastly, I love to accessories my outfits. So with this outfit, I paired it with black sandals from Target, a Roxy cross-body purse and sunglasses from PacSun. This outfit is perfect for the summer and so easy to mix and match with so many things already in your closet!
