Hi all! Welcome to this itty-bitty intro to me.

There are a few, yet indispensable details about myself that you all must know. First, I am currently a rising junior at Fordham University, majoring in English and minoring in Marketing. Second, I love ice cream. It just so happens to be my favorite meal of the day, and yes, I said “meal of the day” because I think it should fit into everyone’s eating schedule. Third, if you enjoy Disney films but hate impulsive and cacophonous sing-alongs, do not, I repeat, DO NOT watch your favorite classics with me. Chances are I know the lyrics to each musical piece and have fully rehearsed choreography to accompany my obnoxious vocals. By the way, Pocahontas and Mulan are my favorite Disney princesses. I even took four semesters of Chinese at Fordham just so I could be like Mulan (definitely kidding). Although, I did take four semesters of Mandarin Chinese and I loved it!

Fourth, I am a HUGE fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Most people know and love him for his popular novel The Great Gatsby. If you haven’t read his short stories, The Off-Shore Pirate, A New Leaf or Bernice Bobs Her Hair, you are depriving yourself of the unmatched talent and beauty possessed by the roaring ’20s author himself. I always say that he’ll make you nostalgic for a past you’ve never experienced and that, to me, is genius in writing. For this reason, in addition to many others, does he sit on a pedestal in my heart.

Lastly, I love to play dress-up. Oscar Wilde once said “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” As a Fashionista who fancies academia, I couldn’t endorse this quote any more than I already do. Apart from my scholarly obsession (those who know me can easily attest to this), is my ever-increasing penchant for style. If I’m not writing a 20 page research paper or reading a excerpt from David Richter’s The Critical Tradition, I’m planning outfits for next week in the back of my head. I keep a mental, and physical, list of “essential closet pieces.” This dainty little clutch has recently been crossed off. I live to shop: it is my guilty pleasure. But I can explain!

Fashion for me is an expressive outlet: a harmonious, outward reflection of the inner me. It encompasses my mood, my personality and even my aspirations. My style is an introduction to me; it is an opening statement to the rest of the world and how I dress on any particular day is  my initial mode of communication. So, if you catch me in my thigh-high kitten heel boots and a mini jacquard skirt, just know I’m feeling extra flossy. And if I’m in an off-shoulder work blouse and colored stacked heels, I’m in the mood for an NYC brunch and stroll.

That’s all for now! Keep an eye out for my favorite summer looks in the weeks to come!
