STYLE GURU BIO: Ro Lynch

Hey readers! My name is Ro and this is my first semester with CollegeFashionista. I’m a sophomore at Truman State University pursuing a linguistics major and a Spanish minor. In addition to my passion for language, I adore the world of fashion. I am excited to be the first Style Guru for Truman State and I can’t wait to start writing articles for all of y’all. But first, I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself!

I am an Irish citizen who has been living in the U.S. for about 13 years as a Chicago suburbanite and now a Missouri college student. I’ve done a lot of traveling throughout my life which has been a huge inspiration for me, especially in my fashion endeavors. I love all things fashion (surprise surprise), learning about designers, scoping sites for hours on end to find the perfect pieces, and of course, styling. My biggest sources of inspiration are Instagram (which I’m on almost 24/7) as well as movies and tv shows.

My personal style has always been rather eclectic. Some days I feel like going all out and looking hella chic and glamorous, some days I try to emulate a specific model or character’s style. But, when it comes down to it I need to be comfortable and feel like myself.

To give you an idea of what my personal style consists of, I put together this outfit featuring some of my favorite casual pieces. I am in love with striped clothing so it’s never a surprise to see me on campus donning this pattern, especially if it’s in turtleneck form. This particular shirt fits well and is super comfy. The jeans are basic high waisted skinnies that can be paired with almost anything. A similar pair can be found here. To add a little flare to this simple outfit, I threw on my new lace-up heeled boots (a $20 end of season score from Target) and a rose gold watch my boyfriend bought for me at Forever 21 (similar one found here). The Midwest has frigid winters so it’s vital to have a big coat. I scored this red one at Kohl’s and love it because it’s warm, classy, and it pairs well with every outfit. This is a pretty typical outfit for me; practical but stylish. I am a believer in staple pieces that can be worn again and again and still make a statement each time.

I hope you all continue to check out my page and see what other outfits I have to share. I’ll be working diligently to track down some of the best looks on campus to write about and hopefully provide style inspo for you readers!
