My name is Rebecca Rubin, I’m a sophomore majoring in journalism at the University of Florida and I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my second semester! It is crazy to me how much my style has altered and transformed just in the short time since I wrote my first STYLE GURU BIO at the beginning of this school year.
Even if it is articles of clothing I swore I would never be able to pull off somehow ending up in my closet, I have gradually become more open-minded to adapting new looks. While I used to be a firm nonbeliever in jean pants, the boyfriend jeans I just got from Nordstrom have become my go-to article of clothing. Jeans? My go-to apparel? I can honestly say I never thought I would utter those words that but, hey, I am open to change. Plus, at some point I will need to accept that I can’t actually wear leggings on a daily basis, so I might as well start now.
My favorite aspect of the fashion industry is that it is constantly varying. So even if you are not hopping on the jumpsuit bandwagon this season, trends will evolve and soon enough there will be a new look you will be confident you can rock.
While my own personal style might be regularly changing, one thing I can consistently count on is spotting UF students representing any and all trends. Last semester I gained a whole new appreciation for fashionable students around campus, and I look forward to continuing to highlight stylish students. Make sure to stop by every Tuesday to see the looks Gainesville collegiates are testing out in the new year!
