STYLE GURU BIO: Rebecca Alexander

Hello, fabulous Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Rebecca Alexander and I am currently a senior, majoring in Communications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While I attend school in Central Illinois, I am constantly traveling between Chicago and New York so my style is never stagnant. I’m more than excited to be able to share a large range of styles and trends from different locations.

My style has never been a constant at any point: from my hair, to my nails, to my clothes overall, my style incorporates how I’m feeling at the time. My fashion obsessions are always diverse including thigh-high boots, two-piece dresses and jumpers, to start. Gianni Versace once said, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” He couldn’t have exemplified the essence of fashion much better. Having style as an outlet to voice what I was too shy to say, Fashion became a language all in its own for me.

Words cannot express how excited I am to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. Pulling inspiration from different social media accounts, runway shows, magazines and the people around me, I’ve realized that personal style can never be worn the same way twice. Even when people try to replicate outfits, whether they realize it or not, something about it is always personalized and shows you what makes the person wearing it different from anyone else. Having been obsessed with photography since as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a camera in my hand whether it was an old school, chunky digital or my iPhone. Polaroids and some glitter are truly the way to my heart!

This being said, come check out my posts every Tuesday and experience some of my fashion journey!
