Hi Fashionistas/os, my name is Rachelle and I am currently in my final semester at the University of Kentucky studying merchandising, apparel, and textiles. If you ask me what I want to do after graduation it’ll change every few months, but right now I’m focusing on PR. It is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I am ecstatic to finally be writing about something I love—fashion.

Whether it was making the perfect outfit for my Bratz dolls in elementary school, ripping out pages of Teen Vogue for my wall in middle school or creating photoshoots in my bedroom in high school, fashion has always been a constant throughout my life. My style is constantly changing at the drop of a dime or a change in the weather, but if I had to pinpoint it now, I probably still wouldn’t be able to describe it! Usually I’m into simple and easy looks that are ultimately comfortable yet stylish.

For this look I decided to wear a black velvet choker from ASOS (I can be found wearing at least one choker every day…call it an obsession), a simple off-the-shoulder black bodysuit from Altar’d State and a pair jeans from Banana Republic with just enough flare for those of us trying to get into the trend.

It’s a personal belief of mine that style is the way to convey who you are as a person prior to actually introducing yourself to someone, and that is such a powerful thing to me. Being a part of the CollegeFashionista team is a great way to introduce all of these fashionistas personal styles through a lens, and I’m excited to see what the semester brings!
