STYLE GURU BIO: Pearce Novotny

Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Pearce Novotny and I’m a rising junior at the University of South Carolina. I’m so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this summer, as fashion has been a love of mine for as long as I can remember. From spending hours dressing Barbies as a little girl to spending hours dressing myself now, fashion has always been a huge part of my life. Both my love for fashion and desire for a career in the fashion industry lead me to purse an education in fashion merchandising, and my obsession has only grown since. As for the future, I see myself living in an apartment in New York City as a fashion stylist with my pug, Pugsly.

When it comes to my style, I have probably been through every stage in the book. I have gone from preppy to grunge, from tomboy to girly and from bohemian to minimal—basically, I’ve been through it all. I love experimenting with trends and going outside of the box when it comes to my style, even though it’s not unusual to find me dressed in black from head to toe. What can I say? It’s easy! As for my style currently, I would classify it as contemporary and minimal. My go-to outfit on most days is a white top, black skinny jeans, black booties, a necklace and my staple Ray-Ban sunnies. Although I love dressing in neutrals, especially black, white and nude, I am definitely going to be adding some color into my wardrobe this summer. (Seriously, I need to, my closet is starting to look like a black hole).

As for what I do in my free time, I love to go on Pinterest, watch fashion videos on YouTube, read blogs and of course, go online shopping. I also am obsessed with social media, including Instagram and Snapchat. I love looking through Instagram for different outfit inspirations and discovering new clothing brands. When I’m not online or looking at social media, I’m usually with my pug, Pugsly. I recently adopted him from a local shelter and I’m obsessed with him. Obviously, he had to make an appearance in my style bio.

I hope this helped you get to know me a bit better and I can’t wait to share my posts with you throughout this summer!
