STYLE GURU BIO: Paula Volos

As I’m sitting here trying to come up with an appropriate introduction to yet another Style Guru bio, I’m finding it hard to believe that this is my third time writing one for CollegeFashionista. My third time. Third. Wow, I guess time really does fly after all.

Okay, time to set all of my random babbling aside and get to the actual point. Lovely readers of CollegeFashionista, allow me to introduce myself (again). My name is Paula Volos and I’m just your regular fashion-obsessed 20-year-old living in good old New York. I’ve just finished my sophomore year at CUNY Queens College, where I’m majoring in English and minoring in Business and Liberal Arts. After I graduate college, I plan on pursuing a career in the fashion industry, as I can’t really picture myself doing anything else in life.

I’m a born and bred New Yorker, only I moved to this teeny-tiny country called Cyprus (yes, it’s a legit country and yes, if you look you’ll probably be able to find it on a map) with my family when I was younger. Right after I graduated high school, I packed up my life and moved back to New York. However, I’ll be spending the summer there, so I’m super excited to see foreign styles and trends in my upcoming articles!

Now if you actually want to get to know me, these are the major things you need to be aware of. Manhattan is my one great love (#boyfriend) and strolling around the city is all I do. I’m an iced coffee addict who will shamelessly eat pizza at any time of the day. I am the most girly girl you will ever meet and I practically live in leather, skinny jeans, dresses and black. I also kind of have a very strong affinity for pointed booties and anything Marc Jacobs (the key to my heart). I’m always, always, always overdressed and if I ever leave my apartment without lipstick on, there’s probably something wrong with me. Lastly, I plead guilty to being the annoying girl who posts insanely long Snapchat stories and spends way too much time on Instagram. Sorry people; a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

My love for fashion is something that I can’t explain. There really aren’t any words to articulate the feelings I get when I’m surrounded by clothes; all I know is that fashion makes me happy and that’s simply enough for me. Fashion is your inner self on the outside. It’s looking the way you feel. It’s an expression of who you really are as a person and a reflection of your mood and attitude. Can you now tell why I love it so much?

To sum it all up, I’m extremely happy to be a Style Guru again. CollegeFashionista has been so life-altering and such a great experience. I’m really grateful for having the #Raddest internship ever. Look for my posts every Wednesday—I’ll try not to disappoint!
