STYLE GURU BIO: Olivia Grandis

Hey there, everyone! My name’s Olivia, and I’m a Fashion Design major at Kent State University. I will be studying abroad in Florence, Italy as a junior this upcoming fall, which I am very excited about. You can usually find me in our fashion building studio, designing and creating beautiful and unique garments. I look forward to being a Style Guru and sharing my articles with you!

Fashion basically takes up the majority of my life! But, besides fashion, I also binge-watch Netflix and cuddle with my cat, when I’m not busy doing spontaneous activities with my friends. As a Fashion Design major, keeping up with the latest fashion trends and designers is very important and a frequent hobby of mine.

My personal style has changed and matured over the past couple of years, as I have been trying to discover my taste in clothing. I used to always think “quantity over quality” when it came to my wardrobe. However, the beginning of this year I started working at BCBGeneration. That’s when I realized it’s better to spend a little more on a few high-quality pieces rather than buying a ton of cheap items that will only last a year or so.

I would define my style now as classic yet unique, with a little bit of edge. This blouse I’m wearing is the main element in my look because it appears as if it’s two separate pieces layeredbut it’s actually one garment. The top layer has a collar, and the underneath-layer is a button-up; I absolutely love this blouse because of how different and versatile it is! I paired the blouse with a pair of black skinny jeans to make for a casual look. Since the weather here in Ohio is finally warming up, I was able to pull out my favorite pair of black wedge sandals! (The best part is I bought them at Target in the fall when they were on clearance, so I got a really good deal).

As for my accessories, I love collecting Alex and Ani bracelets considering I wear them almost everyday, they’re basically my signature pieces. I’m also wearing a gold Michael Kors watch paired with a Michael Kors bangle to add a little bling. Lastly, I borrowed my roommate’s kate spade purse for the day, since the charcoal grey wool and black leather mix really added to my look.

What I love most about this outfit is you can wear it to go shopping with some friends, or dress it up and go out for a night on the town. No matter what season or time, you can never go wrong with wearing black and white!

Hope you all enjoyed my first postkeep your eyes peeled for more to come.
