STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Worley

Hey Guys!! My name is Nicole Worley and I am beyond excited to be chosen as a Style Guru this summer for CollegeFashionista. I am a senior at Ohio State majoring in marketing and minoring in fashion and retail studies.

Going into my senior year I am prepared to answer the highly anticipated question, “What do you want to do after you graduate?” Fortunately, I have been able to answer that question since I was a senior in High School. My dream job is to be a buyer for a major fashion company. I could not tell you when or how my love for fashion started, but I can tell you the day I decided what I dreamed of doing for the rest of my life. When I was a senior in High School, I was a part of the BP fashion Board at Nordstrom, A fashion internship for High School Students. At one of our meetings I was introduced to the concept of a buyer. All I retained was that I would get to shop and get paid for it. Considering the fact that shopping is my favorite pastime, I was sold. In addition to wanting to be a buyer, the second part of my dream is to be one in California. I am a Cincinnati girl that always wanted that Cali lifestyle. My family moved to Phoenix this past year, which reinforced my desire to move out West after graduation.

This dream has influenced my everyday actions from my extracurricular activities to my outfit choices. My boho style comes from inspiration of Cali vibes. Although I attend a university in Columbus Ohio, my clothing personality type is a reflection of my love for all things West Coast. My clothing personality type is Natural, which means I love simplistic pieces that are easy-going and I am drawn toward calm colors. Less is more in my mind. A quick glance of my closet, and you cannot miss my love for neutrals.

Right now my go-to places for shopping are Nordstrom, PacSun, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and the boutiques you find on college campuses. In these photos, my outfit is from a boutique called Divaz. I’m wearing a denim romper with black gladiator sandals. Since the romper is a solid fabric I wanted to add some accessories to spice up the look. I included a twist to the classic black choker and a long black necklace. Lastly, a gold wallet to complete the look. I stuck to denim complemented by black and gold.

As one of my major fashion icons, Rachel Zoe puts it, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” Always keeping this in mind, I strive to express my personality through my outfits in all aspects of my life. I am excited to share my perspective and see other fashionistas’/os’ perspectives in this wild ride that is CollegeFashionista!!
