STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Foisy

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole Foisy, and this is my first time interning for CollegeFashionista! I’m currently a  junior at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island studying fashion merchandising & retail marketing. Since the age of 10, I have known with all of my heart that I wanted to be apart of the fashion industry. I don’t recall my original inspiration or the exact moment I made this decision, but over the past decade I have never doubted that fashion is my calling. When I was 14, I had the opportunity to attend a vocational high school where I was able to major in fashion design, which catapulted my fashion education and experience. In high school, I primarily learned how to design and sew my own garments and I also took business courses that taught me marketing, retail math and visual merchandising. Once I reached senior year and graduation was approaching, I began realizing that although I loved everything I learned in my sewing classes, fashion design just wasn’t for me. This realization is what lead me to choosing my major, fashion merchandising & retail marketing, where I focus more on the business side of fashion.

My personal style is very feminine and romantic. I love pastel colors and girly details like floral and lace. In the future, I would love to become a stylist because I love mixing different styles and putting outfits together. I love taking my feminine and bohemian aesthetic and creating an edgy look by adding a leather jacket or black booties to my favorite dress. For me, becoming a stylist is the equivalent of playing dress up like we all did when we were little, and how awesome of a career would that be?

This outfit features a light pink romper with lace detailing, a beige cardigan, embellished sandals and my favorite pink sparkly Betsey Johnson bag. I decided to go for a bohemian vibe with my jewelry, with earrings and a bracelet from Aeropostale and a ring from Charlotte Russe. This outfit represents my personal style because it has that feminine flare that I love and the accessories consist of stand out pieces that make the outfit unique.

I can’t wait to write about all the fashion I see this summer and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
