Happy summer, Fashionistas/os! My name is Morgan Deppas and I am a Style Guru from Kent State University. At Kent State I am pursuing a degree in Fashion Merchandising as well as two minors in Marketing and Fashion Media!

This summer I will be bringing you all the styles from my humble hometown of Jamestown, New York. Here, I will be looking for the young people who are ahead of the times while still staying true to themselves. I am surrounded by clothing and style everyday here while working at a retail store in my mall all summer. It keeps me updated on specific trends and helps pass the countless days until I am reunited with my second home in Kent, Ohio.

For as long as I can remember fashion has been apart of my everyday lifestyle. When I was younger my mom would tote us around to every mall within a 100-mile radius. I looked at shopping like a challenge and fashion was an art. Around age 10 I started throwing fashion magazines in the cart at the grocery store and watched shows like What Not to Wear. I realized that this is what I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to help people feel good about themselves through this outlet. I believe fashion can truly change the world because a great outfit can change the way you think, feel, act and the way others view you! My two sisters have given me the freedom to trust my styling techniques over the years and I am so grateful that they still continue to turn to me for fashion advice.

My personal style is ever-changing. I like to keep up with the trends as much as I can. Currently for the summer I am feeling classic with a boho, and beachy vibe. A romper, like the one I am wearing or this one from American Eagle Outfitters, is perfect for the girl who is always on the go—like me! Pair it with wedges and some accessories and you’ve got yourself a great summer outfit! Don’t forget your sunnies, mine come from H&M. I’m also loving the Top Gun throwback with the aviator look for the summer! I appreciate how static and changing style is, but I also love the fact that we recycle trends as well. New and updated looks from the ’70s and ’80s have been the trend for the past few years now. If only my mom had kept her acid wash jeans. One day I hope to see my style evolve to become classic, sophisticated but fresh and girly.

I cannot wait to share my findings with you from all my adventures this summer! Whatever you’re doing this summer Fashionisitas, do it in style!
