STYLE GURU BIO: Monique Ly

May 26th, 2015 at 2:10am

Hello everyone! My name is Monique Ly, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Supply Chain Management at the University of South Florida. I am delighted to say that this will be my first semester as a Style Guru, and I am so grateful to be in a position that will serve as an outlet to my creative soul and fashion-obsessed mind.

In terms of personal style, I am a chameleon of sorts. Some days I’m spunky and will step out with some Chucks, choker and a colored lip; other days it’ll look like I emerged from a land of lady and lace. Despite my variant style, I feel most at home in black or in items that radiate a bohemian vibe. I may or may not have a longstanding craze with two-piece outfits and rompers—this has led to a little collection and thus are my favorite pieces to wear. You can usually spot me clad in one of the two.

I am most infatuated with the arts; I admire it in all forms and cannot imagine a life without this freedom of expression. My friends jokingly call me, “Monique Stewart,” (in reference to Martha Stewart), due to my love of crafts. In my spare time, with Spotify as my sidekick, I will spend a myriad of hours drawing, painting or sewing. Along with fashion, these are just a few ways I will channel my creative spirit into a tangible form.

I can’t wait to see where this semester with CollegeFashionista takes me. I look forward to sharing my voice with you, so keep your eyes out as I showcase the stylish students of South Florida every Tuesday! Thanks for your visit and until we meet again, stay RAD.
