Hello fashion aficionados! My name is Melissa Simon and I’m ecstatic to start the New Year as a Style Guru. I would describe my style as sleek, simple and sharp. Even though my taste in style is very minimalist, one thing is for sure, I am not afraid to be the only girl in a pink cocoon jacket walking around campus in heels at 8:00 a.m. I am also a beauty enthusiast, a lover of coffee and Spanish literature.
Since I attend school in Albany, more than often, there are times I am able to travel back down to the city to visit family and friends. While I’m in town my favorite past times are being a restaurant connoisseur and visiting the Chelsea galleries. Times when I feel/look like a hot mess, I like to practice yoga, run for a couple of minutes on the treadmill and, of course, shop!
In this look I am wearing one of my most favorite statement pieces, an oversized jacket inspired by the 19th-century École Polytechnique uniform, which I purchased at Zara. As soon as I tried it on in the fitting room I knew I had to have it! For some people this long oversized jacket may seem a little too dramatic, but to me, it’s the perfect piece to make your outfit look bold and unique.
Not only am I excited to commence my journey as a Style Guru, but I am especially excited to learn and become inspired by all of you. Cheers to a RAD semester!
