STYLE GURU BIO: McKenna Kasper

Hello all of you wonderful Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is McKenna Kasper and I’m a current junior at The Ohio State University. I’m studying strategic communications with Spanish and French minors with the hope of managing social media accounts or writing for a magazine within the fashion industry.

I’m very excited to be writing my first blog post for CollegeFashionista! I couldn’t be happier that it’s finally winter break, because that means endless baking and Christmas movies. However, I’m also looking forward to updating you on the recent trends in fashion here at The Ohio State University this upcoming semester.

I’ve always loved clothes and have an eye for what looks good on others. So naturally being a Style Guru seems quite perfect for me. I love shopping online and reading fashion magazines to come up with new and innovative ways to rework my closet. I lean towards comfortable and easy-to-wear looks that are classic, but also edgy from time to time. I adore preppier pieces and layering, but I’m becoming more open to the bohemian vibe, thanks to my younger sister. I own such a wide variety of clothes to avoid being pigeonholed into one style. Switching it up is what keeps my style interesting.

What I’m currently wearing is a slightly edgier look, mixed with some essential pieces. Due to the crazy warmer weather and lack of snow, I chose to wear my Nike leather bomber jacket, instead of my long winter coat, and maroon colored circle scarf, layered with a black lace paneled long sleeve shirt underneath. I love ripped jeans and no one makes them more comfortable or affordable than American Eagle Outfitters. I paired this look with my tall black Calvin Klein boots and Louis Vuitton pouchette cross-body bag. To accessorize, I chose my oversized men’s silver watch and Cartier Love and Nail bracelets. Many of these pieces are some I’ve collected over the years but here are some similar options to imitate my look: bomber jacketLove braceletNail bracelet, Calvin Klein boots (style one or style two) and black long sleeve.

I can’t wait to capture the different styles around Ohio State’s campus, as well as share some of my own fashions with you guys! I will also be updating my personal blog, A Taste of Gold, with more images and posts to accompany my Style Guru ones.

I hope you all have a #RAD spring semester! Study hard and remember, summer is right around the corner!
