STYLE GURU BIO: Madison Irwin

Hello again, lovelies! Iโ€™m super excited to be back for the spring semester internship for CollegeFashionista! I love being a Style Guru because fashion writing is my passion. I get so excited when I see an outfit that strikes my fancy and Iโ€™m grateful to have the opportunity to show it off to the world.

Iโ€™m currently in my last semester of my senior year, which is a little scary, but also very exciting. Although Iโ€™m still unsure of what Iโ€™m going to do when I graduate, I know that it has to involve some type of writing or editing, preferably in fashion or arts & entertainment. My plan is to get out of New Jersey and stay in Tampa for a little bit after I graduate.

During the winter time, I tend to keep my wardrobe pretty simple by wearing lots of dark, neutral colors. Even though I hate the cold, I love the winter fashion. Youโ€™ve got leggings and boots; what more could a girl ask for? Summer is all about the bright colors and girly patterns, but winter allows you to be as edgy as you want, which is why I love it.

My outfit that Iโ€™m wearing today is pretty basic, yet trendy, due to a couple of pieces. Although I usually donโ€™t wear brown and am not a big fan of the color in general, I think it complements the look as a whole and gives it an earthy feel. Nevertheless, Iโ€™m obsessed with the color olive green during the fall and winter, which I also incorporated in this look.

Starting with the basics, I decided to wear a plain black V-neck and a pair of black leggings to balance out the mixture of colors here. My favorite part of the outfit would have to be the olive green knit-sleeved jacket. I love the print detailing in the sleeves because itโ€™s unique and gives the outfit a little pop of color. For shoes, Iโ€™m wearing a pair of brown chunky heeled work boots, which go with just about anything. Lastly, I paired the outfit with my momโ€™s brown Fendi cross-body bag that she let me borrow.
