STYLE GURU BIO: Madilyn Holden

Hey there, friends! My name is Madilyn Holden, and this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I have also joined the Editorial Society this semester as an intern, which I am super excited about! Being a Style Guru has allowed me to combine my love for fashion, photography, and writing all into one. With that being said, I can’t wait to kick off this semester by telling you a little bit about myself!

I am currently residing in the small town of Starkville, Mississippi, where I am attending Mississippi State University. I am a junior journalism major starting my second semester here at MSU. As much as I have enjoyed growing up and attending school in Mississippi, I can’t wait to graduate and see where life takes me next!

Most of my free time is spent going on all the adventures that my college budget allows, wandering the aisles of Target, trying to master the art of hand lettering, going on ice cream dates with my boyfriend, and obviously scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest getting fashion inspiration from my favorite bloggers!

So, how would I describe my style you ask? Well that’s a good question, because I honestly don’t even know the answer to it myself. If I see something I like, I wear it! That doesn’t mean I don’t keep up with some trends now and then. I pride myself in being able to shop on a budget and score major deals (it takes skill)!  Ripped knee jeans have been a favorite of mine for a while now. I paired them with lace-up suede booties and a flowy peplum top for this outfit. And of course I had to layer a lightweight chambray shirt on top because this Mississippi weather cannot make up its mind!

This year I have set a lot of new goals for myself, rather than resolutions because those usually fall flat. My number one goal is to “just go for it.” Life is to short to spend it being in fear of the unknown. So I have decided to take chances, do what I love, and try new things!

Thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about me! I hope you stick around this semester and check out my future articles!
