STYLE GURU BIO: Lucía Marjolaine

Hey there! My full name is Lucía Marjolaine Désirée Cortés Delgado, quite the mouthful. You see, my parents wanted to have three kids, but since they only had me, they though it would be an awesome idea to give me all the names that they had initially thought of. Trust me, not so great when filling out documents. Don´t worry though, you can call me Lu.

Growing up with such “interesting” parents, as mentioned above, I began to develop a liking for equally interesting hobbies, such as dressing the way I felt, and not the way that other people told me to. This seemed to me the best way to live life at the moment, until I realized that maybe combining baggy pants and T-shirts, and really short hair, was not making it easy for people to tell if I was a boy or a girl; and finally, my love for fashion began. I then found myself mixing baggy with tight, casual with bold, a little bit of me and a little bit of who I wanted to become and that was when I realized that if I could do that everyday for the rest of my life, I would be set for joy.

Unsure of how I was going to begin this journey, I enrolled in the Communications and Digital Media courses that I am currently in, always keeping journalism and fashion in mind. As soon as Instagram and blogging started blooming, it made it easier for me to decide on the path that I wanted to follow and what my starting point was going to be. This is when I found out about CollegeFashionista and was thrilled with the idea of beginning my fashion story through such a supportive platform and community. Every night I stay up an extra hour thinking about all the beautiful trends that I want to share with other people, but most importantly, about the message that I want to deliver, which is dress how you feel, but also feel how you dress. Personally, the most important aspect of dressing up each day is figuring out how I feel, and saying it through what I wear. However, there have also been times when I don´t feel so great, but I dress how I want to feel, and it works. This is what I mean by “Feel how you dress.”

Anyway, how about less talking and more action? I would be delighted to have you read my articles, and if you would like to show some love to the heart-shaped red button, know that I am sending you a cyber hug. You can also follow me on my social media, and DM me if you would like me to check out your page, or even if it is just for a lovely chat. Good day, lovelies!
