STYLE GURU BIO: Libby Zohner

Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Libby Zohner and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I will be a sophomore this fall at the University of Missouri-Columbia, majoring in Textile and Apparel Management as well as Business. One of my favorite parts of going to my classes at Mizzou is seeing all the fabulous outfits everyone works. I’ve always loved scouting out new fashion inspirations and I couldn’t think of a better way of doing this than through CollegeFashionista!

I became interested in fashion when I took my first sewing class in high school. I loved being able to create unique items from scratch. This started my love for upcycling my old clothes into something wearable again, and searching thrift stores for my next project. I found it thrilling, searching for old items and making them new again. It’s sort of rewarding to find a hidden treasure and make it your own.

Through these experiences I learned that fashion is not all about what’s popular and what everyone else is wearing. Fashion is a way for people to express themselves; it’s an art form. In my opinion, the most fashionable people are the ones who are confident in what they wear and who they are. With that being said, I try to wear what I feel comfortable and confident in, and things that I, myself, like. If I had to define my style, I think it would be a mix between casual and romantic, but my style is still evolving everyday. You can usually find me sporting floral, denim or lace somewhere in my outfits. I draw a lot of my inspiration from celebrities like Emma Stone, Zooey Deschanel, and Jennifer Aniston.

I am really looking forward to expanding my views on fashion and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with CollegeFashionista this summer. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and discover all the unique styles people have to offer.
