STYLE GURU BIO: Lauren Lardner

California born and Austin raised, I have been a lover of life, photography, travel, food and fashion as long as I can remember. We “Keep Austin Weird” around here, so my style is freshened up and inspired by the unique fashion and lifestyle that flourishes at every corner.

This summer I dedicate to sharing that style with all of you: fun, fierce, fitness and fringe.

I spend my school year pursuing journalism and mass communication at the University of Iowa, where humble fashion, outdoor adventure and Iowa-gold polish are at my fingertips…as well as my yoga mat.

The secret to a wonderful wardrobe is one I learned from my mom: to only buy what you truly love.

Most of the pieces I love I find at vintage and second hand boutiques. There, I am drawn to texture and pattern and I skim the hangers for my favorite brands like Free People, J. Crew, BCBGeneration and others that catch my eye. However, this is not simply to buy the brand, but to buy the quality at a fabulously discounted price.

Luckily, my three favorite vintage boutiques are located in the two places I call home: Feathers Boutique and Buffalo Exchange in Austin, Texas and Revival in Iowa City, Iowa. I always find fresh pieces to spice up my wardrobe.

Throughout the summer, you might find some styles that speak to your inner modern hippie, sporty-chic, or urban yogi. So check back soon, I am bursting to explore my style even more through these three short months!

Hope y’all are rallied and ready for a #RAD hot summer!
