Since before I can remember, I have loved fashion. As a little girl, I would dress up in sequin dresses, glitzy tiaras and plastic princess heels. Growing older, this love of clothing and accessories transformed into a passion for styling and high fashion. Watching Clinton and Stacey on What Not to Wear each week, I slowly but surely became more confident in my own personal style. Ultimately, I plan to harness my love of fashion into a career in merchandising or marketing. My dream is to work for a large department store or fashion magazine.

I would describe my personal style as natural, feminine and edgy. My favorite outfits mix textures and styles into a unique combination. Bold jewelry is an absolute necessity for me. The rings pictured are always on my fingers. I think that the contrast between the gold and the black is a very unique detail. Henri Bendel is my favorite place to peruse for statement jewelry and accessories. I recently purchased a rose gold hand chain – my latest obsession.

Typically I find my favorite clothing pieces at Topshop or Anthropologie. Some of my statements include a fur vest, a silver sequin mini dress and a strapless black jumpsuit.  Lauren Conrad has —and always will be—my personal style icon. I love her combination of beachy and classic and am a huge fan of her Paper Crown line. My friends always joke that I am the definition of a blackfit (all-black outfit) supporter. Currently, my closet is color-coded and I can proudly say that three-fourths of my clothes are, indeed, black. You could say that branching out with color is something I’m working on.

Being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista will give me the chance to share my personal style with others as well as learn more about new trends. Fashion is a huge part of my life and being a Style Guru will help me express myself and be more confident in my abilities.
