Greeetings to the old and new visitors of CollegeFashionista! I am LaTosha Bell, a graduating senior at East Carolina University! I am majoring in Merchandising and Communications in hopes to make it (somewhere) in the fashion industry. I am a returning Style Guru and I’ve loved every second of writing for CollegeFashionista. It’s opened my eyes to a side of myself that I never knew existed; a creative writing side!
Since my time in college is dwindling away, I told myself I wanted to go out with a bang, which is kind of easy with my fashion sense. I am a bohemian nomad who will grow up to be a kindergarten art teacher. In other words, my style is unconventionally eclectic full of earth tones and a vintage appeal. My style is made for the beginning of the season where winter is lingering and spring is approaching — oversized pieces full of draped fabric meets leggings and thin scarves. Layers are still a go-to, but nothing too heavy that will make you break a sweat.
Four years ago, my style was the complete opposite — crazy colors, tight clothes. I always was a step ahead of the rest. That progressive spirit always stuck with me, as it will the rest of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos as you continue your college careers. Along with that progressive spirit, I was always a bit funky and beat to the rhythm of my own drum. The big hair, the big clothes and the boho chic look will never leave me.
Considering this is my last semester with CollegeFashionista, I hope to show you all a more eclectic side of East Carolina and fill your timelines and news feeds with culture and pure art in fashion form! While eastern Carolina is full of the country folk, there are a few hidden gems that house some of the most daring and forward fashion one has ever seen. Come along for the ride!
