STYLE GURU BIO: Laleh Jabalbarez

Greetings, everyone! My name is Laleh Jabalbarez and I currently attend Hillsborough Community College for Art in Ybor, Florida. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I could not be anymore excited!

A few things about me: I am constantly on the go and I’m okay with that. I am a full time student and I work two jobs, which can be challenging but rewarding. I am an administrative assistant for USF Health, and on the weekends I work for Urban Outfitters as a woman’s associate.

Working at Urban Outfitters has defiantly made me a fashion-forward individual. I get to see up and coming trends and see what everyone is purchasing. I also get to go to Free People and Anthropologie and see what is currently trending in those stores!

I’d like to say my style is a little bit of Beetlejuice, ’90s grunge and witchy whimsical. Some of my favorite places to shop besides Urban Outfitters are American Apparel, H&M, Forever 21 and any local thrift store. Most of my shoes and accessories come from local thrift stores around the Tampa Bay area.

I’ve taken over four photography classes at Hillsborough Community College. My favorite photographer is Ralph Eugene Meatyard. He was a surrealist photographer during the ’50s and ’60s. He is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to photography, and I am pretty sure he is the reason why I prefer to work in the darkroom with film.

When I’m not working or in school, I love going to concerts and traveling. My favorite band is My Chemical Romance and the last band I saw live was Interpol.

I will be getting my associates degree after the fall semester (finally) and I plan on applying to schools in New York and Georgia. So join me on this fashionable journey into my college campus!
