STYLE GURU BIO: Krystal Peguero

Hi beautiful Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Let me introduce myself as I am new and ecstatic to be a part of the Style Guru family. My name is Krystal Jane Peguero. I am a broadcast journalist and graphic design student at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. I’ve ALWAYS had an interest in journalism. I used to create my own newspapers and write my own stories since I was a little Fashionista. I even published stories online that I forced my friends to read (lol)! As for fashion, that runs in my blood. My mother is a natural when it comes to styling, so I would like to think I get my fashion sense from her and that I was born with the “passion for fashion.” As I got older, I realized that my love for fashion and journalism can be combined, and it is the industry that I see myself belonging to.

When people ask me what my style is, I never give a straight answer. Depending on the mood and what the day is going to bring, my style fluctuates everyday. Nonetheless, my style is what I will like to think as very girly, sophisticated and edgy. Some days I am bohemian, and other days I am feeling vintage, in which my inner Ariana Grande comes out. If I am going to be honest, I like to workout and cute athletic clothing is what I rock the most during the school session, so I can be a sporty Fashionista too! I get my inspirations from anyone and anything. From YouTube to magazines, and pretty much anyone I see from my day-to-day activities, the inspiration I take in translates towards my fashion. That is why capturing street style of fellow college students is super exciting for me.

My favorite designers include Chanel, Valentino and Christian Dior. I admire the classic, sophisticated styles that these designers showcase. However, because I am the average broke college student, my funds do not allow me to rock their chic customs. My favorite places to shop include, Missguided, Urban Outfitters, PacSun and Marshalls! Whether I dress up or down, I make sure I slay!

My outfit above is mixed with bohemian and edgy. On a chilly day or evening, I like to layer a long thin jacket. I am very into the long Kim K.-inspired coats that make an outfit look chic. My suede crop top is very appropriate and trendy for the summer! Laced up detailing on tops are trending this summer, and I am definitely on board. Crop tops are of course best paired with high-waisted bottoms to give the look some balance! My belt and choker necklaces are accessories that give my outfit more flare and edge.
