Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Kendall Yorio and I just started my junior year at Ohio University. I am studying retail merchandising and fashion product development with a minor in marketing and communications. This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I couldn’t be more excited!
Here at Ohio University, students are more than just partiers (surprise!!). This is where I have seen some of the best fashion. There is such a wide variety of personalities so you see many different styles. Just walking to class every day I get so much inspiration and see something cool that I have never seen before.
Growing up I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in fashion. I would always have pretend fashion shows and sew clothes for my dolls. I also loved to sneak into my mom and sister’s closets and try on all their clothes and shoes. I just couldn’t get enough fashion! After I graduate from Ohio University my dream is to be an event planner for a high fashion company. I would love to plan runway shows, photo shoots and many other events.
So what is my style? I honestly don’t consider myself to have a specific style. I have a wide range of trends that I like. You can catch me wearing a graphic T-shirt paired with ripped jeans to a dress paired with heels! I just love to dress however I am feeling that day. In this outfit I brought out my favorite ripped jeans and a plain black bodysuit. The ripped jeans and strappy heels add some edge to this outfit since it is paired with such a simple top. I believe one of the most important parts of picking out an outfit is pairing it with some great accessories. It can make or break an outfit and add so much more to it. I chose this tie choker because it is one of the biggest trends on campus right now. No matter where I go, I always see different people wearing one. It is simple, yet adds a good touch to an outfit. This look is perfect for a night out while running around uptown with all your friends.
I am so excited to be part of such an amazing team and can’t wait to make this a great semester!
