STYLE GURU BIO: Kendall Williams

Hello, Fashionista/os! I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team for my first semester as a Style Guru. I am a junior Advertising major at the University of Florida. Throughout the semester I will be scouting out the latest campus trends while documenting my journey along the way.

Before I get started, I thought I would share a little bit about who I am. For as long as I can remember I have experimented with clothing and found excitement in incorporating fun pieces into my ever-growing wardrobe. As a child I insisted on picking out my own outfits and I enjoyed having the freedom to put on anything my heart desired (even if that meant wearing my favorite Barney T-shirt and floral shorts every day). Now, as an adult, clothing has been a way for me to express myself and feel comfortable and confident in my own skin.

Although my style is constantly evolving, much like a butterfly, my current style is a cross between a vintage hippie and bohemian rocker chick. I find style inspiration from the ‘70s and ‘80s but I like to add a modern twist. You will most likely find me rocking anything floral, flare, fringe or just plain fabulous! The most prized pieces in my wardrobe are a pair of distressed leather ankle booties and some retro-printed flared pants. Give a girl her favorite shoes and her best fitting pants and she is good to go!

Now, in honor of my first post, I am wearing a black romper paired with a leopard print beanie and ankle booties. I love a good outfit that makes me feel stylish yet comfortable at the same time. My campus attire mostly consists of boots, casual dresses and tons of funky accessories. Even when I’m feeling lazy, I still feel the need to pull together a fashionable outfit for class.

Now that you know a little bit about me, stay tuned for posts every Monday. As I document the Fashionista/os at my university, I hope you get a glimpse of my campus’ fashion in northern Florida!
