I am beyond thrilled to be writing for CollegeFashionista for the spring 2016 semester! I hope to bring a unique perspective on style through my posts. I am a third year Graphic Design and Fashion student at Mercyhurst University. I am traveling abroad to Dungarven, Ireland for the spring term so I am super excited to bring European style and influence into my wardrobe and to see how my fashion choices change.
My favorite hobbies include reading, creating fashion illustrations, film and digital photography and watching Murder, She Wrote on Netflix. I also have a fashion and lifestyle blog that I have been writing since high school titled Hellosimpleme. More recently, I’ve been posting OOTD’s and I also write about hauls, about what inspires me and various lifestyle hacks.
My wardrobe has been influenced by the capsule wardrobe by Unfancy as I prepare for my trip to Ireland. Pinterest also has lots of inspiration for capsule wardrobes, here is the link to my Pinterest board that has lots of inspiration.
For this look I decided to wear a long cardigan. They add warmth, are comfortable and can add pattern to a simpler look. I then chose a solid colored top, since the cardigan has a bold pattern on it. Finally, I picked out a pair of lighter wash skinny jeans.
Fashion has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, I used to pick out my outfits even before I could talk! My mother would hold up two options for me and I would choose which outfit I wanted to wear by pointing to it. Fashion is my favorite form of expression and it can be tuned to your specific taste which is something I love about it.
