Hey Fashionista/os! My name is Kelsey Baska and I am a senior at the University of Kansas, majoring in Strategic Communications and minoring in Business. As a transfer student from Johnson County Community College, I’m beyond ecstatic for what this new journey brings! This summer marks my first full year as a Style Guru, and I’m so excited to begin my fourth semester writing about the rad students of KU (rock chalk!).
When it comes to personal style, I’m at a place where I’m still trying to figure out what mine is. Fashion is constantly evolving, and I always want to try out new trends. I think it’s important to experiment with your style because it’s fun to step outside your comfort zone every now and then; how else will you discover what you like and don’t like to wear? But I do know that I’m a gypsy at heart, and as a result I tend to gravitate towards all things bohemian. I can’t get enough of flowy maxi dresses, kaleidoscope prints, wispy layers, floppy hats and stone jewelry. After all, Stevie Nicks is one of my biggest style icons! I try to incorporate these boho pieces into my simplistic wardrobe for a clean look that’s ‘70s inspired.
