STYLE GURU BIO: Katie Klinefelter

Hello, hello! I am so overjoyed and grateful to be returning for my second semester as a Style Guru and I can’t wait for you all to see what’s to come over the next few months. Snow is beginning to fall and new trends for spring are soon to come.

This past semester has been more rewarding than I could have ever hoped for. I found my niche in the manicured grasses of College Green, my soul on the bricks of Court Street. Being surrounded by so many inspiring, young and passionate people has truly helped define my personal style. Athens has become my home.

When I’m not stalking my favorite Pittsburgh and pug accounts on Instagram, studying or crafting something in my dorm, I can usually find myself in multiple situations. I’m either strolling aimlessly around campus in hopes of finding new hangout spots, drinking caramel lattés at Donkey Coffee, laughing until I cry with my sorority sisters or simply listening to Ben Howard and getting lost in my thoughts. Music has become part of my daily routine. Whether on my speakers or on repeat in my head, music is constantly playing. I love going to concerts and music festivals with my friends, such as Lollapalooza. True dancer by nature, I often find myself in fun, upbeat situations where I can honestly express myself. New places, whether it be hiking at Hocking Hills or tanning on the beach in Florida, are always an excuse to try out a new outfit. All of these diverse interests keep my fashion taste versatile and day-to-day.

I like to keep my style on the edge; I never know what I am going to wear in the morning.  Although there is always the temptation of throwing on my comfiest pair of joggers, I like to keep my look put together. I enjoy combining separate pieces in new and interesting ways. In fact, some of my favorite pieces are stylishly simple, such as a casual black dress, a pair of chic booties or an oversized neutral sweater.

For my second STYLE GURU BIO, I decided to wear a pair of sleek black leggings with mesh detail, a longline black sweatshirt tunic and a pair of patterned Nike Free sneakers. To tie it all together, I added a black and white blanket scarf, a nude felt baseball cap and, of course, my favorite gold watch. I love this outfit because it is striking, yet casual. This look allows you to be comfortable and polished at the same time. What more could you want? As Coco would say, always remember to leave your last accessory behind.
