Hello beautiful people! My name is Kamari and I am so excited to introduce myself as your Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. As a fashion fanatic, anything that gives me a foot in the fashion world is an exciting new adventure for me and I am excited to go on this adventure with you all.

I am a student at the University of Connecticut, but I just recently became a part of Husky Nation. #GoHuskies! #BleedBlue! I transferred to UConn from Pace University in New York City. Living in New York City was one of the greatest experiences of my life as the city really introduced me to a new world of fashion. I advanced my fashion sense to new heights by getting different ideas from Fashionistas/os at my school, on the streets, at fashion shows, etc. Sometimes I would just walk through SoHo and different boutiques just to get inspiration. Just going to class was literally a fashion show and I loved it. That has not changed for me since transferring to UConn. Though a pair of Victoria’s Secret PINK yoga pants are always a go-to favorite of mine and many other students at UConn, getting to wake up every morning and reinvent my style for the day is exciting to me.

So far I have been building my platform in things related to the fashion industry. I LOVE red carpet events because it gives me a chance to expand my celebrity look book. Every red carpet I compose my favorite looks into a folder and one day I hope to recreate those trends in my own way. I dipped my foot into fashion retail for a while last year by working at Nine West on Wall Street. Busy, busy beautiful people running around looking for shoes would seem annoying to most, but literally the best thing to me. Recently I have been fooling around with photography, which is why I am so excited to begin my next adventure with all of you through this internship. I’m ready for new ideas from my fellow Fashionistas/os and hopefully you guys are ready to go on this journey with me. So let’s get to it. Ready… Set…FASHION!
