Hi there! My name is Kaitlyn Ventura and I am a senior at North Carolina State University. I’m majoring in Fashion and Textile Management with a concentration in Brand Management and Marketing, so it’s no surprise I’ve always loved fashion. For as long as I can remember I have loved to dress up! Although my style has definitely evolved throughout the years, I have finally learned what I love to wear and what looks good on me.
I would describe my style as trendy and bohemian. I love loose silhouettes (you won’t catch me in a body conscious dress), but I like to mix and match with classic accessories, bags and shoes. I would rather invest in a piece of jewelry or a pair of shoes than a dress or article of clothing. I don’t like to wear the same dress often, unless I can style it a different way and I know I’m not the only one who thinks like this!
My go-to look is definitely a dress. How else can you look put together with just one piece of clothing? Especially in the hot summers that North Carolina gets, you need to have easy, breezy clothing to survive the 90-degree days. I love bright colors and black, so when I saw this fun floral print dress, I knew it was a winner. I love the way the color pops against the black background, and I paired it with my favorite gladiator sandals.
To complete the look, I found a fun straw hat and one of my favorite necklaces from a local boutique. Like I’ve said, I love to build my looks around accessories! An eye-catching shoe or necklace adds so much excitement to an outfit. And it’s a really simple way to bring things back to life from your closet that you haven’t worn in a while!
