Three years ago around this time of the year, I was seriously considering joining the military. Having gone to private schools most of my life, the transition from wearing a uniform to wearing another uniform was comfortable to me. I didn’t have much of a personal style since most of my time was spent in knee socks and plaid, a Swimsuit and goggles or a tennis skirt and sneakers.

Fast-forward and I am currently studying at Temple University, involved in Fashion and Business Club and starting my first summer with CollegeFashionista! I’ve come a long way from that sporty, Tomboy high schooler, and I have figured out that dressing fashionably is not only fun (I’m actually addicted to buying clothes), but a reflection of who you are. Style is about being proud of yourself and showing your personality off to the world; it gives you the confidence to take on the day and rock at whatever you do.

My personal style ranges from business casual to City-chic. As a twenty-year-old living in Philadelphia, I find inspiration from the amazing variety of looks on campus and downtown. Philly never stops evolving and creating, and the people that are happy to call it home reflect every trend, culture and fashion risk imaginable.

Heading to class, I like to combine comfort and professionalism, since I am a Business Management major. A favorite look is jeans and a T-shirt, with a blazer to dress it up and a pair of booties to give me that high heel feel while still letting me walk around campus all day.

While I will always be athletic and love reminiscing about ugly uniforms, I’ve created an image for myself that I am excited to continue to design and share. As a part of CollegeFashionista, I am looking forward to exploring my style and that of the fabulous Fashionistas/os that I meet this summer!
