STYLE GURU BIO: Kaitlin Robertson

Hello, everyone! My name is Kaitlin Robertson and this is my first semester blogging for CollegeFashionista. I am so excited to start sharing all of my amazing finds with you this semester. I am from Cleveland, Ohio, “the Land” as some like to call it, home of Lebron James (and the rest of the Cavaliers). I am currently a junior at Ohio University studying Fashion Merchandising and Retail Product Development, as well as Marketing and Business Administration. I am so eager to start my search to find the best Fashionistas/os on campus for you all.

My love for fashion has not exist from birth. When I was younger, I did not care about what I looked like. My hair was always a mess and I could care less about what I had on. I remember that seventh grade is when I started to be fashion-conscious. I was dying to have a pair of Abercrombie jeans (so unique I know). Once I got those jeans it was just a snowball effect of picking out what I wanted to wear with them and what was trendy at the time.

Fashion is not my only passion. I also love coffee and working in a coffee shop does not help my coffee addiction. I actually don’t even like the caffeine aspect of it, I just love the taste, so occasionally I’m one of those decaf drinkers—crazy, I know. Also, this may be a little bit embarrassing to admit (depending on who is reading), but my guilty pleasure is all things Kardashian. Some people think I’m insane, but they are so entertaining and their fashion taste is impeccable. Taylor Swift is my number one though; she always has been and always will be. I have had a love for her since her first self-titled album came out in 2006.

Just like Taylor Swift has evolved, I feel that my style is very much the same way. I have begun to take more risks with my fashion choices as I have gotten older. I do not care as much if someone thinks an outfit of mine is too much or too different; I get enjoyment out of being different. I think confidence is key when it comes to wearing anything. I don’t believe in not being able to pull something off. If you are confident in how you feel and look, then you will rock whatever you are wearing.

For this post I opted for my go-to look, a sweater layered with my jean jacket, a black pant and booties. It’s easy, comfortable and the textures mix perfectly together. Having sensitive eyes, I always have to have a pair of sunglasses on hand, so might as well make them a cute pair.
