STYLE GURU BIO: Julia Levin

Regardless of the below zero temperatures Illinois has been experiencing lately, I’m super excited for my favorite season of fashion and my fourth semester with CollegeFashionista.

I am currently a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign pursuing a major in advertising with a minor in public relations. Despite residing in the cornfields of Central Illinois, I try my best to stay up to date with the latest trends and steer clear of the typical Midwest uniform that many busy college students fall victim to.

Thankfully for us all, 2016 has finally come to a close. While it wasn’t a super eventful year for me personally, it was an exciting time for fashion and chock-full of celebrity drama. To name a few, this past year brought extra-long sleeves, reconstructed denim, shearling jacket, and a glorious tracksuit revival—I’m not a huge fan of athleisure, so this is my take on somewhat of a sporty look. Adding a stylish winter coat over your outfit is almost like having two looks in one. This camel coat I’m wearing is one of my favorites, and also one of my greatest thrift store finds to date.

I will not be missing: the mannequin challenge, shoulder cutouts (who authorized these?), or Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s saga. And speaking of the Kardashians, I’m channeling some Kim-K-pre-Paris-robbery fishnet vibes (fishnets are back—you heard it here first).

This semester, I’m looking forward to continuing to find new places on my body to wear denim, dope new fashion trends, more thrift store finds, and most importantly, Drake and JLo’s inevitable breakup.
