STYLE GURU BIO: Jessica Rosen

Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Jessica Rosen, and I am a senior at Columbia College Chicago studying marketing with a minor in fashion business. This is my second semester as a Style Guru, and I am beyond excited to be posting about the up and coming trends for the fall and winter seasons. I work in retail and do a little bit more people watching than is normal, and I am always on the hunt for the next trend and the next dupe. After graduating, I plan on doing marketing for a fashion magazine, website, or corporation. Some that I follow on social media include NYLON, PAPER, Kayture and Bryanboy.

A few trends I am already forseeing for this fall are suede jacket looks, as well as ruffles on shirts, which have been hitting the runway this spring and will surely make their way to the masses. Additionally, I am looking forward to what this fall’s street style has to show for the concept of high-waisted skirts and suede jackets and accessories. Chokers do not seem to be going anywhere this summer either. Who doesn’t love a good choker to bring their outfit back to the ’90s?

Through writing for CollegeFashionista for a second semester, I still aspire to uncover some street style trends and showcase the wicked sense of style my fellow college students have, while getting others to expand on their style.

My sense of style is a collage of inspiration I have gathered from watching films and reading books and magazines. I cannot easily describe my style because it is always wavering and growing. I admire that fashion allows me to convey who I truly am, while pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and try new styles. I hope though my posts, the reader can learn how to embrace their style while trying something new in fashion.
