STYLE GURU BIO: Jennifer Summers

Well, hello there! My name is Jennifer Summers–but most people call me Jenny. I’m from the Chicago suburbs and go to school in the Chicago Loop. I have always been in love with the city; it’s so exciting and beautiful. So it only makes sense that I’d choose to go to school there. I’m a third-year Marketing major at Roosevelt University and trying to soak up every moment before graduation which seems so soon.

This is my very first post for CollegeFashionista, which I have been a follower of for a while now. It’s surreal to now be a part of this incredible family of Fashionistas. I’m so excited to begin this journey where I have a place to express myself in something that I have always loved–fashion.

I have had a passion for fashion, if I may, ever since I can remember. From the recollection of my parents, when I was a toddler I wouldn’t leave my house unless I was wearing a dress, tights and “shiny shoes.” I would say it was pretty clear from the beginning that my parents had a diva on their hands (sorry mom and dad). From the time that I was a toddler until now, I have gone through many phases in fashion as most people do. But one constant has always been my love for shopping and finding clothes that make me feel like myself. My love for fashion has also branched off to form a love for interiors, beauty, lifestyle and photography. All which contribute to one another and make me one happy gal.

My style is mostly feminine because I am a girly-girl by nature. But my mood definitely affects what I wear. So sometimes I can dress somewhat edgy if that is what my mood calls for. Some days I want to wear all black. But I feel most myself when I’m wearing pink or a light color, lace, florals and stripes. I love to mix patterns and take classic pieces and pair them with a more eccentric, statement piece. The true beauty of fashion is that it is an outlet to express yourself in so many different ways.

And now, this incredible platform will allow me to express myself with people that share the same passion as me. I mean, what could be better? I would like to thank CollegeFashionista for this amazing opportunity. I cannot wait to get started! I can only hope to inspire y’all as much as you inspire me.
