STYLE GURU BIO: Jenna Oplinger

Hello all of my Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Jenna, and I am thrilled to be a new Style Guru and writing for CollegeFashionista this winter and spring! I am a freshman at Kent State University majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in fashion media and marketing.

When I was younger, I was pretty much a tomboy. My best friend used to have to drag me to the mall because I hated it so much (I will willingly go any second of the day now). My love for fashion literally came out of the blue a couple years ago. I always thought I would become a vet, but one day I realized I needed to be in fashion. I love the way everyone’s style is different. I could spend hours on social media creeping on random people’s accounts for inspiration and new ideas for my everyday outfits.

I am so excited to be involved with CollegeFashionista for this semester because cold weather means sweaters and turtlenecks. My style is very simple and can definitely be described as minimal, and you will always, always, always find me in black; black is my color. Most of my outfits contain a loose and long fitting top or sweater with leggings or ripped jeans, and I am a sucker for chunky heeled boots. One thing you will always find me wearing is my compass ring; it reminds me everyday to never stop exploring the world.

The beauty of fashion is that it is always changing. A trend one day can be a mistake another day. I can’t wait to follow the trends at my school this semester, and I am so excited to share my world of fashion at Kent with all of you and hope it inspires you to rock a crazy good outfit.
