STYLE GURU BIO: Janny Bui

Hey there, Janny B. again! I cannot describe to you all how ecstatic I am to be going into my second semester as a Style Guru intern. My first semester has definitely taught me all things fashion and experience with this amazing internship. Over the semester, I got to capture some of Boise State’s amazing styles and trends. As a bonus, I got to meet some awesome people along the way. This internship has helped me learn more about fashion trends and when capturing fellow Fashionistas/os’ style, it opens my mind to different looks that I can incorporate into my own personal style.

Another thing I learned after my first semester as a Style Guru is style is ever changing. At the beginning of the fall semester, I wanted to try a casual minimalism look and soon, I found myself infatuated with the sporty-chic look. The look I am wearing in this post speaks my recent style. I love to keep it classic with solid colors and adding accessories or a pop of color to make my outfit stand out. Even though I am not the best at it, I love to play around with makeup, especially with lip colors. NYX’s matte lip cream in “Copenhagen” is the perfect pop to my outfit. I love wearing matte lipsticks or creams, because it is super lightweight and has a long lasting wear.

I paired my moto jacket with some high-waisted black jeans and combat boots to give off an edgy-chic vibe. However, one style I did find that has stayed with me through the years is when in doubt, go with black. This color has been a staple in my closet and frankly, I don’t think that is ever going to change. My number one tip will always be, wear black because it goes with everything!

While being a Style Guru intern for only one semester, CollegeFashionista has opened many doors for me. Fashion has been something I’ve been devoted to majority of my life and this has given me that step closer to pursuing my dreams in the fashion industry. I have been grateful to land an awesome online program with Parson’s and where I can get a certificate in Fashion Industry Essentials. Without CollegeFashionista, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn more about fashion from some of the industry’s well known designers and editors.

I cannot wait for all of the new adventures and people I get to meet with this internship. I’m looking forward to show you all the amazing styles here at Boise State University. Let’s make this semester a RAD one, see you soon!
