STYLE GURU BIO: Gianna Nolte

Hi there! I’m Gianna, a senior at the University of Miami majoring in journalism and minoring in religious studies and marine science. Outside of my academics, I am the current president and former social chair of my sorority. I also have a campus job and just completed one year as Greek Life co-editor for the IBIS Yearbook.

I think my love of fashion really took hold after watching The Devil Wears Prada. But it wasn’t just the wardrobe, shoes or makeup, although Anne Hathaway did make me want to rock bangs and a smoky eye at one point or another. It was the way fashion, much like life, was so versatile. In the blink of an eye, trends come and go. Styles evolve and you can too.

That’s the great thing about fashion—it’s a transformative art. Whether you’re a designer, makeup artist, hair stylist, journalist, photographer or model, fashion can be styled by you and for you.

For me, I live by three C’s: comfy, cute and changeable. Humidity, heat and frigid indoors are a constant battle in the land of endless summer. Naturally, I’ve grown to love sporting kicks during the day and my favorite pair of wedges to conquer by night. On campus, sneakers and yoga leggings keep me going since I’m always on my feet, and wedges work for almost any evening occasion.

Personally, rompers are also a go-to item. The variety of styles, colors and patterns are endless. Plus, you have the ability to keep them casual with a knit cardigan, or dress them up with some killer heels.

I can’t wait for this summer as a Style Guru, to explore the world of fashion and share my different finds with you all!
