STYLE GURU BIO: Gabrielle Scherer

My name is Gabrielle Scherer, I’m a sophomore at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Just like any other, I’m slaving for my degree in hopes of establishing a career in the fashion industry. I’m a first-time Style Guru ready to showcase my personal style, and unfold the remarkable varieties of Fashionistas/os on campus!

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve thrived off fashion and brand names, so I’d like to say I’ve been swagging since ’96 because of it. But let’s be real, we’ve all gone through some embarrassing phases to get to where we are now. Am I right? If you’re anything like me, you’ve had your fair share of bad side bangs and cringe worthy outfits. But luckily with age, you become a little smarter when it comes to your look. Fashion is an ongoing challenge to showcase everything you are both uniquely and confidently to the world, and I find that invigorating.

When it comes to my fashion preferences, I can barely keep up with myself. I have an eye for many styles, but somehow manage to make it work. Overall, my style situation is laid back with a modern, minimal edge. I basically live in neutral colors, and always find myself leaning toward a simplistic look. But I’m also a fan of street style trends, and that definitely reflects in my everyday appearance as well. For instance, destroyed boyfriend jeans were all the rage on the streets this past year. So here I paired them with a ribbed crop top and a wool lapel coat for a super casual look. As for accessories, a petite black satchel is a major staple in anyone’s wardrobe. Even though this piece is completely to die for, a little kate spade party never killed nobody. To spice it up, I added a little fur. This is a way of keeping things trendy and chic. Most importantly, I’m a girl with many shoes. My adidas Samoas are a go-to, classic sneaker that perfectly topped off this outfit.

You are your style, so never hold back when it comes to expressing yourself to the world. Always remember people will stare, so make it worth their while, Fashionistas.
