STYLE GURU BIO: Gabriela Gutierrez

What can I say, I’m just a girl who likes piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. I am a television arts major with minors in creative writing and Spanish, so I obviously like to keep myself very busy.

“Fashionally” speaking, my philosophy is pretty simple: if you feel like you look good, then you’re more confident and just overall feel like it is going to be a good day. We have all heard the mantra “if you look good, you feel good,” but it is also important to add the element of comfort. If you look good, but feel like you have to stand stick-straight all day, you will likely get tired quickly and look awkward due to feeling awkward.

I also believe that, sometimes, all you need is a tiny accessory to tie the whole outfit together. The small details, which are seemingly insignificant, actually make a huge difference. This is honestly a great secret to keep in mind for all of us broke college students. A simple choker necklace, for example, can add a completely different element to your outfit. Every single piece of your outfit separately has a different statement, but finding the pieces that speak to each other is where you’ll find your style.

I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a categorized style, but I love experimenting with different elements of other styles. All in all, I hope you guys have as much fun as I do trying to figure this whole life thing out!
