Hi everyone! I’m Felicia. My name means happy, which describes me perfectly because you’ll always catching me laughing or goofing around. This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I’m so excited to join. I’ve been reading CollegeFashionista since before I even started college! I’m a senior at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida studying business management. Most of my classes are online which gives me the free time and opportunity to blog and travel as much as I want.

I was born in New York, lived in southern Maryland for 10 years, and now reside in Florida, where I’ve been living for the past nin years. I’d be lying if I said my style wasn’t shaped by my living situations.

Living in New York, I grew up visiting the city for shopping every weekend with my family. It was so chic and cool! I basically grew up surrounded by style and my interest in fashion was instant.

While I lived in Maryland, my style developed. As a middle schooler, I wore far too much black because it was “cool and moody”.

Then, at the beginning of high school, I moved to Florida; a tropical oasis full of flowers and sunshine! You can say this is where my style brightened up a bit. I’m still a fan of the chic style I picked up in New York and the taste for simple black wardrobe staples I favored in Maryland, but Florida is where my style blossomed!

This floral maxi dress is definitely a Florida-inspired piece. I actually purchased this maxi dress for my first road trip to Miami which was only 6 months ago, despite the fact that I’ve been living in Florida for nearly a decade. This maxi screams Miami! It’s fun, flirty, colorful, and dramatic. If you asked my friends and family to describe my style in one word; they’d say “dramatic” or “overdressed,” and I wholeheartedly agree with that!

This twirling floral frock is a great piece for the sweltering Miami heat and beaches but our area does cool down a bit come December, so I decided to style one of my favorite summer pieces for “Winter” (it was 65 degrees on New Year’s Eve) by pairing it with a pair of high waist jeans, bright red pumps, and dark tinted Lennon-style sunglasses.

This look truly captures the creative flair and happiness I like to express in my style. Although style and fashion changes every day, we’ll always see a bit of our personality in every outfit. I can’t wait to discuss more style and fashion with all of you. Until next time!
