STYLE GURU BIO: Fabiana Zalazar

Hello lovely people! I just want to start off by saying how extremely excited I am to be able to be part of CollegeFashionista Style Gurus for this semester. It will be such a fun and challenging adventure being able to report trends for all of you, especially when it will be from one of the fashion capitals—London.

I am from Paraguay and Argentina. I have lived in Brazil, Senegal, Ghana and now doing my undergrad studies in America in a very cool university called Kansas State University, better known as K-State. Go Wildcats! This is going to be my junior year (oh my god, it just seemed as if I started yesterday as a freshman; time do flies). I am majoring in Apparel and Textiles Marketing with a minor in Business and French. What do I want to do with it? I’m actually not really sure, but my ultimate goal is to somehow be able to impact the fashion industry positively so that sustainability is not a choice and body image is not centered on tall, skinny women. I mean, come on, what about the other demographics? All shape and sizes are beautiful (lets not forget age), so fashion should be all about that.

If I wasn’t studying fashion, I would probably be majoring in either Archaeology or Astronomy/Cosmology. That being said, my interests other than fashion are the universe, stars, dinosaurs, fossils, history, philosophy, aliens and other conspiracy theories. I know…geek alert. Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, walking Lua (my dog), Netflix (of course), learning new languages (my goal is to speak seven) and reading fashion magazines and blogs. I love blogs.

I own a personal blog named lifeshion.com where I write about trends, lifestyle and beauty related posts. My favorite bloggers are Adam Gallagher from Iamgalla.com, Aimee Song from songofstyle.com and Leandra Medine from manreppeler.com.

I would describe my style as very versatile and flexible. I get bored easily, and so I love trying different styles—from vintage to preppy to rock ‘n’ roll (which lately I am obsessed about). Most of the time I love having a little story behind my outfits or some sort of inspiration, which lately is from bands such as Guns N’ Roses, (mainly Axel’s outfits) and The 1975.

So that’s a little bit about me, I hope you guys follow me on this amazing journey and enjoy the future posts every Thursday.
