STYLE GURU BIO: Erika Borst

Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I’m Erika Borst and I could not be more excited to join the CollegeFashionista team this summer as a Style Guru!

For me, post high school, each year has been a new adventure. Freshman year, I took my bite of the Big Apple, living and learning in New York City at The Kings College. The following year found me selling houses as a licensed realtor in northern New Jersey. Last August I transferred to Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, finally finding my niche as a marketing major and sister of Alpha Delta Pi. This fall I plan on returning to Coastal to start my junior year.

Fashion? I wouldn’t pin myself to any specific style. I love letting the scenery, my mood and the occasion inspire my look-for-the-day decisions. I find my style has evolved with my constantly changing environments. Living in New York City taught me to take risks and to be unique. While selling homes, I learned to add a professional filter to my look. I love one-of-a-kind finds and vintage pieces. I am a firm believer in shopping small, so I enjoy supporting local boutiques, brands and designers. I also have a soft spot for philanthropy and social justice. My dream is to one day run my own company, where through what I sell, I can “pay it forward” and benefit others.

Now, having just completed my sophomore year, I am extremely excited to share a summer of style with all of you! I had originally planned to stay in Myrtle Beach all summer (I mean, who wouldn’t right?), but I have been blessed me with some amazing opportunities! I invite you to join me every Monday as I document East Coast fashion mavens during the summer of 2015!
