STYLE GURU BIO: Enya Hennings

Hey, I’m En, a Fashion Merchandising student at Kent State University. I’m a semi-simple Ohioan with a passion for fashion that surpasses your typical light wash flare jean & graphic tee combo. I believe that personal style does so much for the person wearing it, and being in fashion school has solidified that belief. It extends beyond looking good in what you’re wearing to feeling good about it. Fashion is the most versatile version of expression, a way for people to instantly know who you are and how you feel. The most beautiful part about fashion is it’s subjective nature. My mantra has always been to, as Kenneth Cole says, “Wear your voice.” That voice is whatever you want it to be on any given day. Some days you can feel loud and bold, others introverted and quiet. Regardless of how you feel, your voice is all your own and as long as it’s rocked with confidence, people will respect and admire it.

My voice varies from day to day, including anything from all black ensembles to the most obnoxious color palette you’ve ever seen. Today’s look is more subtle though; it’s an outfit that’s perfect for welcoming summer. My look features a translucent, varsity style crop top, a corduroy skirt and strappy leather sandals. My silver statement necklace dresses up the look and creates a cohesive balance between my bracelet and the silver buckles on the sandals. Though simplistic, this look conveys the bright vibes of a chic, casual summer.

This summer my featured street style looks will be UK based, as I will be visiting Northern Ireland and London for the majority of the summer. I can’t wait to share the foreign voices of fashion with CollegeFashionista. I hope to cure some common closets with a bit of European inspiration and flare. Until then, Fashionistas and Fashionistos, stay stylish.
