I am so thrilled to return as Style Guru this semester! I missed the deadline to return to CollegeFashionista last semester, for which I was really mad at myself. This is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I just have so many fashion ideas that I want to share with you.
I am a sophomore studying in University of Wisconsin-Madison. I just declared my major as apparel and fashion design last semester. The knowledge of clothes making and fabric structure makes me appreciate the fashion industry even more. I will bring my experience and knowledge of fashion design into this semester’s CollegeFashionista articles.
I was home in China for Christmas break and my mom picked the outfit that I’m wearing above. She chose a dark purple coat, paired with long grey sweater and a pair of knee boots for me. The outfit that she chose was classic for the winter; dark color tones were suitable for the coldness of winter, too.
In order to break the overall dark tone of the whole outfit, I decided to bring some pastel colors into the outfit. So I chose a light blue oversized scarf and a pair of shinny blue earrings to give energy to the whole outfit. I also specially dyed my hair into a lighter brown color in order to break the dullness in winter.
I can’t wait to start a new journey with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru again! I am looking forward to the articles from my peers too!
