STYLE GURU BIO: Danielle Dixson

Hello Fashionistas! I’m Danielle Dixson. I go to Xavier University where I’m majoring in business management with a minor in human resources. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old and I play for the Xavier Women’s Soccer team. This is where my creativity began, on the field. I was originally born in Chicago and spent most of my childhood living in West Windsor, NJ before moving to New Albany, OH in elementary school.

As you can see my major has nothing to do with the fashion industry specifically. So, you might ask why I’m into fashion. I haven’t always been the most fashionable girl, but as I grew up, I came into my own. I don’t have a specific style because I’ll wear just about anything. If I had to give my style a name I’d coin it, “collective-chic”. I like to switch it up. One day, I’ll be wearing Nike high-tops with joggers and a graphic T-shirt, then the next day I have on a midi dress with gladiator sandals or wedges. I love finding pieces that most people wouldn’t dare to wear, the more unique, the better. I like to take a simple piece and spice it up with layering, accessories or shoes. One of my favorite things about my style is that I’ll shop just about anywhere. If it’s cute, I’ll buy it. Having an athletic body, I have to be conscious of my thighs, small waist and broad shoulders. When it comes to buying different clothes, I like to accentuate some things playing soccer has gotten me whether it’s showing some leg or wearing a more fitted dress.

Along with my love for fashion, I have a passion for photography. My grandfather used a to be a well-known photographer in Nashville, TN so, it’s no surprise that I inherited the photography gene. I love going on adventures with my friends around Cincinnati and taking pictures of them and all the things the city has to offer.

With my two passions, I’m so excited to be a Style Guru and capture the fashion that is all around us. Welcome to my journey of fashion discoveries.
